The Lucy Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that was created from the growing concern for animals that suffer from a poor economy. Owners from all walks of life have endured financial constraints, and many times our furry family members bear the brunt. It is the goal of The Lucy Fund to assist owners, through their Veterinarians, in the care and well being of their seriously ill pets in need.
About Our Founder
Katie Phillips founded The Lucy Fund, Inc. after the loss of her beloved dog, Lucy. Becoming close to the disease Lucy had, while treating her, she learned so much about animal diseases. Additionally, she became acutely aware of the huge costs involved to heal seriously ill pets and realized that there is a significant population that is not in a position to help the pets that they love due to cost. It is Katie’s wish to get people from all walks of life to join her in helping animals to survive their illnesses.
Katie is also very dedicated to devoting her time to improving and enriching the lives of women and children. She is a past Boys and Girls Club Board of Director, is a long time mentor to children with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and spends a great deal of her time supporting women’s needs. Katie also mentors youth’s in her area to keep them off drugs and out of trouble. Katie’s long-term focus is building character and confidence in young people so they can realize and achieve their dreams.
“Please join me in my effort to build awareness around such a serious cause. I look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming fundraisers. I thank you in advance for all that you can do.”
